"accept it as if you had chosen it" wow - powerful stuff. I do believe the struggle against something is usually worse than whatever that something is.
Amazingly insightful. "Always work with it, not against it," is good advice for us all, because after all, in most cases, that is our only recourse...and I do believe that we can often improve our situations. Loved this, Helen. Thanks. Thinking of you...
It's definitely a lot easier to work with things rather than fighting them...that works for seemingly simple tasks all the way to the really challenging ones. Good on ya for recognizing, and acting, on this!
I love Eckhart Tolle! I did that class Oprah had online for A New Earth. I feel like I really got something out of that book. Must re-read because I need to work on the same thing.
Reminds me of the situation with my long work hours. I knew it when I took the position, and therefore, it doesn’t bother me. I chose it. Other people seem to want me to fight against it, like it is not fair. Then I would get all stirred up and angry about it, and life would generally be much less pleasant. I’ll take my way of dealing with it. "All things work together for good...."

ReplyDeleteReminds me of one of my favorite verses--"I have learned to be content in whatever state I am in..."
ReplyDeleteA agree - along with the quote: "life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% what you do with what happens to you."
ReplyDeleteHang in there Helen! :D
Eckhart Tolle is wonderful. What a beautiful way to simply remind us to go with the flow. That eases most of the struggle.
