Blergh.

Another 3-4 inches of snow coming overnight tonight.  Some of our cities are barely back up and running.  My distain for winter has reached epic porportions.  I told Mr. Helen last night that I'm going to start looking for work down south and he can join me once he retires in 5 years. This is how I'm feeling about pretty much everything these days.

  1. Oh no! I feel for you!

Although our weather is nothing compared to you, I can understand your feelings towards Winter. Since our Winters are colder and involve more snow I start to dislike Winter more and more. I can't wait till Spring.

Until that time, close your eyes and picture this: the sun is shining on Helen's Patio, cocktails are ready for you and your favorite blogger friends (which of course would include me LOL) We are wearing summer dresses and flip flops and chat till late at night outside because the weather is that good.

  2. Come on down to Huntsville, AL. We have a "cold" snap every now and then. However, can you take 100 degree temps with high humidity??

  4. There is a lovely little house just around the corner from me. The prices of real estate here in Texas will make you swoon!

  5. Hang in there Helen. In rough winters, remember the nice weather and the reason you live where you do. It can be worth it to tough out a few months.

  6. I totally agree with you. I've lived in many cold places including Anchorage, AK; Rutland, VT; Tell City, IN and Reno, NV. I hope that is never required of me again. The cold makes me tense up and then I end up with my neck and shoulders aching. Somehow summer never made up for the extremely cold and sometimes dark winters. Sigh.

  7. Spring is right around the corner my friend. We've had 3 days of rain and I'm about to chew my arm off but listen to me anyway :) Hugs!!

  9. Because I live in your neck of the woods and agree 100% with you, I think it's time for you to hire a bus to transport all the SECTers that have HAD it with this weather. The men can stay here and piddle around with their snow-blower toys, then get the house ready for our return in May. Sound like a plan?

  12. I told my husband the same thing about wintering in Florida eight years ago and even started spending January in Florida. Only problem is, it's eight years later and when asked, he still tells people he's retiring "in five years!" There's something seriously wrong with his math. For me, it's not even the snow - just cold and endless, dreary, drizzly, cloudy, foggy days.

    Hang in there, Helen!
