Can We Auto-Correct Humanity?

I've been thinking about his a lot lately...

  1. Great video - I agree with a lot of what he says. I do think that FB, when used properly, is a nice tool to connect with people who you don't live nearby, but I think it's silly when people are posting to each other from the same room...or even the same damn dinner table, LOL.

  2. I can't watch videos at work - I'll come back and comment tonight. Hugs!

  3. I like the connection that social media gives because I can stay in contact with people that I otherwise would not be able to.

I do find it a little ironic that this is circulating around FB, though :D

    1. Interesting as I did not find this on FB, I'm sure I will see it by day's end. I don't think his point is that all social media should be avoided. I think he's saying we're losing our ability to connect face to face.

A couple months ago I went out to eat with a friend who I hadn't seen in a very long time. I was very much looking forward to really being able to catch up. I left my phone in my purse thinking we would converse. She couldn't keep her hands off her phone and spent more time addressing whatever was going on there than talking with me. I even asked her to stop but it was almost compulsive. I didn't like it and my feelings were hurt. I made up my mind that the next time that happened I am going to flat out ask them to put their phone away. If they won't, I'm removing myself.

  4. AHHH the media which is social.
it is AMAZING and amazingly a disconnecting thing.
    all at once.
